Preparing your 11ty Site for the European Accessibility Act

With less than a month to go before the European Accessibility Act comes into force on June 28th, 2025, accessibility is becoming an increasingly crucial topic across the web. In this talk, I’ll share a selection of quick wins to help you get started on creating a more accessible user experience with your 11ty website. Whether you’re new to accessibility or looking to improve your existing site, you’ll leave with practical tips and actionable insights to make your projects more inclusive.

Custom, Fast, and Serverless: DIY Full-Text Search

Most people reach for tools like Algolia or Pagefind when adding search to static sites. I didn’t—for nerdy reasons. In this talk, I’ll walk you through how I navigated the solution space and what it took to build something custom. No servers, no third-party services, and no bloated dependencies. Just fast, client-side search that feels right. You might leave inspired to build your own—or confident that you never want to. 😄

I design, code, manage projects/products/people. Currently product design director at antithesis.com. Recently led redesign of Zulip web & mobile apps. In the past co-founded & led an app development agency bringing 40+ apps to the market.

We weren't interested in the corporate idea of collecting registration information. Instead, we share the zoom link via the calendar event, in an event on our public calendar, in an email on the day of, and in the 11ty discord on the day of.
